Child Safety Outlet Plugs

If you are planning on opening a home childcare or if you have small children of your own. You will want to invest in good quality child safety outlet plugs. The cheap ones are very dangerous. I know that for a fact. I almost decided it was safer to not have the plugs until I found out that there are truly some safe ones that will protect your child and or childcare children within your home from harm. These safety plugs are not like the dollar store cheap ones that can cause a fire.

A few years ago I owned my own clothing store where I had my younger children with me during store hours. I decided to use dollar store safety outlet plugs. This is something I will never do again. The store almost caught fire. I noticed a burning smell and went to investigate. I didn’t notice any smoke until a few minutes later. I took the safety plug out of the outlet and to my surprise the plug was burned and the wires inside the wall were on fire.

Luckily it didn’t get out of control and we were there when this fire was starting. No one was hurt and I don’t know if it was the safety plug or faulty wires. But I do know since the outlet safety plug was burned and I believe the prongs to it were too long in my opinion. I decided never to use these ones again. I now use a Universal Outlet Cover. In my opinion they are the best child safety outlet plugs out there.
